Students’ own Poetry compositions

Grade 5 students inquired into poetry writing and learned all literary devices including mood, theme, tone, metaphor, similes, hyperbole, onomatopoeia, alliterations to incorporate the same in their own compositions of different styles such Haiku, Tanka, Verse, Diamontes,  shape poems, Acronyms etc. They also learned the recitation of poem by incorporating actions, body language and expressions and thus as a Summative Assessment task, they made their own poetry booklets comprising of different types of poem of their own. They proudly presented their work to the class.
